ITEM DESCRIPTION: You are ordering one item that includes two Jack fruit tree seedlings, Artocarpus heterophyllus The average planted height from soil level is 9-11 inches. More about growing Jack fruit: USDA Hardiness Zones 10-11 Location:
The jack fruit tree should have a well-drained, frost-free location that is sunny and warm. Soil: Jack fruit flourishes in rich, deep soil of medium or open texture. The tree needs the best drainage and cannot tolerate "wet feet". Irrigation: The tree will not tolerate drought. Water frequently during warm months and warm periods in cooler months. Less water is necessary during colder weather.
Fertilization: Jack fruit trees benefit from organic fertilizer once a month during the warm parts of the year. Organic fertilizer will speed the plant's growth without causing burn. In the regions where it is commonly grown, it succeeds without much care from man, the sole necessity being abundant moisture.
Frost protection: Although mature jack fruit trees will take several degrees of frost, it is prudent to provide young plants with overhead protection if possible and plant them on the south side of a wall or building.
Small plants should be given complete protection with a covering on cold nights and even a light bulb if possible. Start growing your seedling in part shade. Step your plant up to larger pots gradually as you acclimate it to the sun. Select a well drained spot preferably a place that has some protection from strong winds. Soil pH range 5.0 - 7.5 Very light balanced organic fertilizer once a month during the spring and summer.

Message us along with a photo of the plant immediately upon arrival if the plants are in poor condition. We cannot guarantee plants that are no longer in our care. Many of our plants require warm temperatures. Shipping to areas that are cold will be at buyer's risk. We offer quality plants that are inspected and approved for shipment. Pepe's Plants will not be responsible for plants that die as a result of improper care and handling once it is in the buyers hands. On arrival of your seedling put them in a place with temperatures about (70-80 F) in shade but NOT direct sun for two weeks so they can adjust from shipping. NO direct sunlight at all! NO partial shade - FULL SHADE ONLY! Once again: Sun will burn the seedlings! Allow the plants a week or two to adjust before transplanting or fertilizing. If you plan to plant them in the garden, gradually increase their exposure to sunlight and outdoor conditions!
