Our White Hilo Pineapple is not a mass-produced tissue culture plant. These rooted plants are propagated from slips produced by our own mature White Hilo mother plant, preserving the characteristics of this exceptional Hawaiian variety through traditional vegetative propagation.

The original mother plant was personally sourced from a respected Hawaiian pineapple grower with whom I have done business for many years. Over the years, I've developed trusted relationships with growers who share my passion for preserving outstanding tropical fruit varieties. When I discovered this rare White Hilo Pineapple, I knew it was a variety worth introducing to collectors and home growers here in Florida.

Today, that original Hawaiian plant serves as the mother plant in our South Florida nursery, where each new plant is carefully propagated from naturally produced slips—not tissue culture. This traditional method produces a true vegetative clone of the mother plant and is the propagation method preferred by many pineapple collectors.

At Pepe's Fruit Trees, I've been growing tropical fruit trees and rare edible plants for more than 30 years. Every White Hilo Pineapple is personally grown in our family-operated South Florida nursery using deep 3 x 8 tree pots that encourage a strong, downward-growing root system, helping produce vigorous starter plants.
